In keeping with our mission of offering turn-key solutions for our clients, Teknikor is pleased to announce the creation of a new division: Precision Alignment.

This new division is made possible due to our acquisition of Oxford Engineering, a premier precision machinery alignment specialty company. Founded in 1981, Oxford is a small and efficient operation which has long enjoyed a reputation for quality work. Like Teknikor, they have honed their skills through long-term retention of their employees — who are trained at the renowned, ISO 9001:2008-certified Brunson Instrument Company.

Oxford Engineering brings Teknikor their experience working for Fortune 500 companies such as DuPont and Dow Chemical. In addition, they have the security clearance required to work in the US nuclear industry. And since the great majority of their work has been direct contracting, they bring a number of new client relationships to Teknikor.

In short, we’re happy to welcome Oxford Engineering and its founder Jack Grosberg to the highly integrated family of multi-disciplinary divisions that is Teknikor.

More than half a million babies are born too soon every year. To raise awareness and support programs in the community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies, team Bradey Bunch was formed to walk in the March for Babies, April 30th in Bristol, RI. Many Teknikor employees as well as friends and family of Bradey took part and were one of the top fundraising family teams that participated.

New Teknikor bases growth strategy on single source efficiency and value

FALL RIVER, MA — June 14, 2010 Four locally-based companies have rolled themselves into a new entity with a new, industry-leading service delivery model. The companies formerly known as GEMCO, Engineered Control Systems (ECS), Action Energy and Power & Fire Protection (PFP) will now share the Teknikor name. The companies have joined together to provide more comprehensive services for customers and consolidate systems and internal services to reduce operating costs. Teknikor is made up of four divisions, automation, contracting, energy solutions and electrical maintenance and testing.

The new entity integrates comprehensive infrastructure management services into a single source provider. Typically, plant and operations managers have to deal with different contractors to install, move or upgrade capital equipment; keep core systems operating smoothly; develop energy management processes and perform electrical safety testing. The Teknikor service delivery model gives clients a “one call takes care of it all” point of contact — not only unburdening them from the headaches of coordinating disparate providers, but also making it easier to deliver projects on time and on budget.

“At Teknikor, we’re all on the same team and accountable to each other.” says CEO Phil Pelletier. “There are no delays because someone else didn’t show up or an ‘every man for himself’ mentality.” Pelletier goes on to say, “Merging into one company makes sense for us since together we can gain a greater share of our clients’ business. But it also makes a lot of sense for clients. One hour of unplanned downtime can cost thousands of dollars and jeopardize their own customer relationships. With us, they know everyone on the job is focused on getting their work done right and on time.”

Teknikor is headquartered in Fall River with more than 100 employees.

About Teknikor: Teknikor provides integrated plant and facility management services including electrical and mechanical engineering and contracting, automation and controls, electrical testing and maintenance (fire safety) and energy solutions management to a regional, national and global client roster. Industries served include manufacturing and industry, government and municipal, institutional (educational and healthcare), financial services, retail and corporate property management. The company is based in Fall River, Massachusetts and employs its own engineers, technicians and tradespeople. For more information please visit www.teknikor.com
